Britannia Restaurant Queenstown - restaurant reviews

Had a great evening here, Food was fantastic and huge portions! I thought it was really reasonably price for the quality and size. Try the chocolate boat with toffee sail for dessert.

On our last visit to Queenstown we were recommended to this restaurant by the hotel we were staying at, as our meal the previous night at another place was a major disappointment I am very pleased to say that this restaurant lived up to all we were told. On entering we found the decor like an old sailing ship, which impressed us all, we (6) were seated at a large highly polished table and served by a waitress that would show up most staff. Our meal was served very quickly and was as good as you would get (large portions and well presented and very reasonably priced) Two of the group had deserts which one was a boat and shared by all of us.

We were in Queenstown on New Year's Eve and not booked in advance, we were lucky to get a table. Food and service is excellent and good value for money and all the staff were very friendly. The inside of the restaurant is done to look like an old galley ship, it had a great atmosphere. We went back the following night as we'd enjoyed it so much....

The decor was wonderful (really felt like eating in an old galley ship) and the staff really friendly. We all tried the lamb shanks (couldn't go to NZ without trying the local lamb) and were blown away by the size of the dish. Not one, but two, lamb shanks each, and the BEST lamb shanks we had ever eaten. And so cheap for what you get. Don't walk past this place!
